We were honored when Jewell Parker Rhodes asked us to help develop the educator guide for her bestselling, award-winning middle-grade novel Ghost Boys. Our educator guide, developed in collaboration with Jewell and researcher Steve Jozef, provides educators with a wide range of resources to support students as they dive into this powerful novel addressing implicit bias, police brutality, and the Movement for Black Lives.

We're huge fans of Jessie Janowitz's middle-grade novel The Doughnut Fix and its sequel The Doughnut King about a city kid whose family moves to upstate New York. Grant Overstake's young adult novel The Real Education of TJ Crowley dramatizes the social and emotional growth of a white boy during school integration in 1960s Wichita.
