Your book purchases make a difference!
In addition to bringing new and classic books featuring diverse characters, settings, and stories into your home library, your purchases help your school! For every book you buy, 20% of your purchase (before taxes and shipping) will be donated back to your school as store credit at Boogie Down Books. Your school will use these funds to purchase additional books for your classroom and for other students who might need assistance to purchase books.
How to shop
Everything you buy in the Boogie Down Books online bookstore helps your school earn store credit to buy even more books. You can find lots of book recommendations there, but you can also search for any book you've heard about or been wanting to read. If you're having trouble finding what you're looking for, give us a call or text at (347) 916-6234 or email us at info@boogiedownbooks.com. Orders can be shipped directly to you or picked up from our South Bronx location (402 E. 140 St.).
When to shop
The Ella Baker School's virtual book fair is October 19-November 1, 2020. You're welcome to shop before or after these dates, but your school will receive store credit for 20% of your purchases within that window. Because the Covid crisis has caused disruptions in the book supply chain and the shipping industry, we're expecting delivery delays as the holidays approach. We're recommending that customers place holiday orders by November 10, so your book fair window helps to ensure that books will arrive promptly, especially if you need them for the holidays!
An important reminder
Don't forget to write ELLA BAKER in the Order Comments section during checkout to make sure your school receives store credit for your purchase. You can also make an additional donation at checkout, and 100% of those funds will be credited to your school! And be sure to share the link and your school's name with your friends and family too–your school will receive 20% store credit for any purchases designated for ELLA BAKER, even if the purchaser is not a student at your school!
