Independent Bookstore Day is a national celebration of indie bookstores, books, authors, and the entire bookish community!

The Boogie Down Books celebration will include:

• 10am: Boogie Down Storytime featuring Bronx author Joshunda Sanders reading her picture book I Can Write the World which celebrates the Bronx. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required in order to meet social distancing guidelines.
• 11am-3pm: Free giveaways, games and prizes, trivia, and art activities for kids, teens, and families. Space is limited due to social distancing guidelines, and admission will be first-come, first-served.

We’re also partnering with our friends at Mottley Kitchen to give away coupons for a free cookie with purchase. Be sure to visit Mottley Kitchen for breakfast or lunch (and your free cookie) after you stop by our celebration!

Masks are required for all participants over the age of 2, regardless of vaccination status.

Members of the Boogie Down Books community outside of NYC are welcome to join us at Boogie Down Storytime virtually via Zoom. Pre-registration is required.
